To make life easier on all our clients, as of October, 2018 we have implemented AutoSSL on all our Shared and Cloud Hosting plans.
This means that if you have a single domain or multi-domain web hosting plan, you no longer need to purchase an SSL Certificate to be Google Chrome (and other web browsers) compliant.
You will receive a FREE SSL Certificate on server level specifically for your account, which will allow you to enjoy all the Wildcard SSL benefits for your main domain and its sub-domains hosted on your server.
AutoSSL is benefitial to all our customers. It provides Domain Level validation, meaning that it conforms to the basic standard type of validity and security.
Who is the AutoSSL Certificate Authority?
We thank the Non-Profit Let's Encrypt for promoting the widespread adoption of HTTPS on Root Level of all web servers. Because of that, we have decided to include their SSL certificates on our popular budget plans, to ensure you have the industry standard SSL security as well as being seen as "Secure" by web browsers and most importantly, your users.
What if my server doesn't show AutoSSL?
We are working hard to get all our our shared and cloud servers setup with AutoSSL on root level, so if your server doesn't currently have the option, it will be available on all of these servers before the end of the year 2018.
If you absolutely must have SSL, we provide you with an option for a 90 day Comodo SSL Certificate, or one of our existing SSL Certificate Options. The 90 day SSL certificate is a one-time only deal per domain. You cannot request a new 90 day certificate for the same domain name. Upon its expiration, the AutoSSL option should already be available on your server.
How do I know my server has AutoSSL enabled?
Under your cPanel, scroll down to "Security" and enter "SSL/TLS Status". You will see a button related "AutoSSL" inside this page.
Will AutoSSL also secure my email?
YES! AutoSSL will work as a wildcard SSL Certificate with Domain Validation at the root level. This means that your main domain, subdomains, cpanel, webmail, webdisk and even mail server URLs will be secured. This is a big important matter, because now you'll also be able to configure your Secure Email Connection without needing to remember the primary server URL.
This also adds an extra level of security against blackmails. While we cannot guarantee you won't get blacklisted, the chances of your email account and credentials being spoofed are greatly reduced. Keep in mind that in a shared hosting environment even if your site isn't blacklisted, another account inside the same server could be, and it may affect your reachability. Does AutoSSL require renewal?
Yes, AutoSSL does require a renewal every 3 months. the good news is, it renews on its own and you won't have to do anything about it. It's that simple. However, if you do require OV (organization validation) or EV (Enterprive Validation) SSL Certificates, you will have to renew and install these manually the certificate from a third party provider. This is mainly recommended with VPS and Dedicated servers that must use these types of certificates. For pricing and details on these other types of SSL, don't hesitate to contact us.
Will AutoSSL be available for other BZVweb Services?
We are working hard on making sure our clients benefit from FREE SSL and will try to implement it on as many services as possible. If you must have SSL installed on your Unsuported-AutoSSL server, please reach out to us and we'll help you with an option that meets your needs. We will update the list of supported services with AutoSSL as soon as the implementation is completed.
